Full Job Description
The House Manager implements and maintains an appropriate home-like environment for the individuals of an AHRC community residence/ICF, performs related work as requested. Under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Program Director, an employee in this position manages the operation of an AHRC community residence/IRA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manages a household budget
- Recruitment, training, evaluation and supervision of staff
- Supervision of diets and nutritional needs of individuals
- Meal preparation; light housecleaning
- Record keeping, individual service plans, attending team meetings
- Family and community relations
- Ensures the scheduling of medical and dental appointments
- Serve as Agency Designated Supervisor providing administrative on-site supervision in association with the administration of medication to individuals residing within the community residence/IRA
- Administration of medication in conformance with State regulations
Salary Range 62,400-67,900
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 2 years of supervisory experience in an OPWDD setting.
- Maintains a valid NYS driver's license with agency criteria.
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
- Must be able to display a high level of professionalism and discretion and understand the sensitive nature of
- confidential information with superior emotional intelligence.
- 24-hour on-call for staffing/emergency problems
- Role Responsibilities:
- Creates schedules to ensure house minimums are met to support the supervision of residents.
- Reviews and approves payroll to ensure accuracy.
- Participates in interview process, hiring decisions, and ensuring all staff is held accountable to all policies and
- procedures.
- Trains staff, provides clear expectations of house needs, and shift responsibilities, and ensures all staff is enrolled
- in and completes additional training as needed.
- Acts as a role model to DSP staff.
- Works with program staff to coordinate and integrate programming, wellness and family services, family holidays,
- and special events to support resident individual family goals.
- Conducts and documents house meetings monthly to support open communication.
- Acts as the lead person for crises. Provides direct crisis prevention and intervention services to residents.
- Ensures proper communications and documentation to all required support departments.
- Provides oversight of incident management to ensure the timely and accurate submission of all required
- documentation and notifications.
- Maintains accurate financial records and oversight of submission of receipts and reconciliation is made daily.
- Monitors all expense logs.
- Ensures all meals are in line with diet orders.
- Supports the overall atmosphere of the program, observes staff and resident interactions, conducts required
- unannounced supervisory checks, resolves staff and resident issues, and provides training corrections as
- needed.
- Participates in all DSP-level responsibilities as needed.
