Are you passionate about education and ready to inspire the next generation? Excellence Community Schools is hosting a Hiring Day to grow our exceptional team of educators, administrators, and support staff in Stamford, Connecticut, and the Bronx, NY!

📅 Event Details
📍 Location: Bronx Charter School for Excellence 1
🗺 Address: 1952 Benedict Avenue, Bronx, NY 10462
🕘 Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
🗓 Date: Tuesday, February 18th, 2025

How It Works:

  1. Pre-Screening: We will conduct a phone interview prior to the Hiring Day.
  2. Hiring Day Invitation: If successful with the phone interview, you’ll be invited to participate in our Hiring Day, where you’ll have an in-person interview and the chance to meet our team.
  3. Demo Lesson: Teachers and Educational Associates/Teacher Assistants will be required to conduct a demo lesson with students. Please prepare a lesson plan for Elementary or Middle School students on a topic of your choice.
  4. Next Steps: After the Hiring Day, selected candidates will move forward in the hiring process, which includes reference checks, background checks, and fingerprinting.

**Please Note: Job offers will not be extended on the same day but will follow the successful completion of the hiring process.

Requirements

 We’re Hiring For:

Leadership Roles:

Assistant Principals – School Building Certificate required

Directors of School Operations – Bachelor’s degree required; Minimum of 3 - 5 years of professional experience, preferably in management or leadership of the operations, finance, and/or administration of a nonprofit organization.

Teaching Roles:

Classroom Teachers – Bachelor’s degree required; three years of elementary, middle, or secondary classroom lead teaching experience

Transitional Lead Teachers – Bachelor’s degree required; minimum of one year of lead teaching experience
Special Education Teachers – Bachelor’s degree and New York State Special Education Teacher Certification required; at least two years of teaching experience

Middle School Social Studies Teachers – Bachelor’s degree required; two years of teaching History/Social Studies
Middle School Science Teachers – Bachelor’s degree required; two years of teaching Science
Middle School ELA Teachers – Bachelor’s degree required; two years of teaching ELA
Middle School Math Teachers – Bachelor’s degree required; two years of teaching Math
Art Teachers (Elementary, Middle) – Bachelor’s degree required; two years of teaching Art
Dance Teachers (Elementary, Middle) – Bachelor’s degree required; two years of teaching Dance
Music Teachers (Elementary, Middle) – Bachelor’s degree required; two years of teaching Music
Computer Science Teachers (Elementary, Middle) – Bachelor’s degree required; two years of teaching Computer Science
P.E. Teachers (Elementary, Middle) – Bachelor’s degree required; two years of teaching Physical Education
Foreign Language Teachers (Elementary, Middle) – Bachelor’s degree required; two years of teaching Foreign Language

 

Specialist & Support Roles:

Educational Associates/Teacher Assistants – Bachelor’s degree required
Learning Specialists – New York State Special Education Certification required; Master’s degree in Special Education or related field required; minimum three years of teaching experience
Social Workers – LCSW/LMSW required
High School Placement Counselors – Bachelor’s degree required; experience in high school admissions, education, or nonprofit industry. Prior teaching experience preferred and/or working with 5th–8th grade students
Curriculum and Assessment Developer – Middle School Math & ELA – New York State Teaching Certification required; M.A. in Education or related field; three years of teaching experience and curriculum development expertise
Managing Director of Academics: Teacher Development (Grades 5–8) – Master’s degree in Education or related field; minimum 7–10 years of experience in education, with at least five years in a teacher development role

Support Staff:

Managing Director of Data – Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Education, or related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred); seven years of experience in data analysis, management, or strategy, ideally in education
Data Analysts – Bachelor’s degree required; at least two years of professional experience
School Nurses – New York State Licensure (RN) required; Basic Life Support certification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required (Associate’s degree acceptable with RN licensure)
