About Us:
Toolkit Tutors is a provider of in-school and after-school tutoring services, dedicated to enhancing student learning through a blend of traditional high-impact tutoring and study skills training.
Job Description:
Pay: $28-30/hr
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable High School English Regents Tutor to join our team to provide in-person tutoring services to a Brooklyn high school starting this fall. The ideal candidate will work closely with high school students to prepare them for the English Regents exam, helping them to improve their reading, writing, and analytical skills.
Compensation and Schedule:
- Target launch date of October 16, 2024 running through May 2025
- Schedule of 2 five-hour days each week
- Pay range from $28-$30 per hour depending on prior tutoring experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group tutoring sessions focused on the English Regents exam for students in grades 9-12.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that address the specific needs of students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, teachers, and parents.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to enhance student understanding and retention.
- Collaborate with school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field.
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching high school English, particularly in preparation for the Regents exam.
- Familiarity with the New York State English Regents exam and its requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with high school students and tailor instruction to their individual learning needs.
