Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified Heavy Civil Project Manager to help us maintain our position as an innovative authority. The ideal candidate will have production experience and strong skills in developing and overseeing work plans. The project manager will also prepare and present updates regularly to relevant management channels, ensuring that our goal of innovation is achieved.
Requirements
- Manage the entire construction process of project-specific projects, starting from permits to punch list.
- Ensure the smooth execution of projects, delivering exceptional results, and maintaining commitment to quality and safety as a crucial role of the Project Manager.
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of heavy civil construction contracts, including revenue, safety, risk, schedule, and compliance with contract drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders) to achieve project milestones on time and within budget.
- Conduct project meetings to facilitate effective communication and issue resolution among team members.
- Prepare and review project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
- Monitor construction progress, conduct regular site visits, and provide accurate reports on project status, issues, and recommended actions.
- Maintain project files, logs (payment, permits, RFIs, change order submittal, PO, etc.), and drawings.
- Prepare cost-to-complete reports, labor reports, cost analysis, and budgets.
- Monitor the progress of field construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Record the work quantities performed by subcontractors and reconcile those quantities with the subcontractor and Owner's representative.
- Stay updated with industry trends, construction methodologies, and regulations to contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes.
- Job responsibilities may change over time to align with project and organizational needs.
Required requirements and qualifications:
- HCSS and Excel software
- P6 or Microsoft project
- Licensed Professional Engineer P.E.
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) and Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Certifications.
- Experience working with NYC agencies such as The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ten years of project manager experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
