About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced director to bring to life a compelling story about an aspiring actress preparing for a pivotal audition. This short film explores themes of artistic passion, self-doubt, and perseverance, showcasing the protagonist's diverse skills from language proficiency to martial arts. The project aims to capture a visual style inspired by the film "Amelie" and requires a director with expert-level experience to execute this vision.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine the visual style of the film, drawing inspiration from "Amelie"
- Collaborate with the writer to enhance the script and ensure effective storytelling
- Cast appropriate actors for all roles, with a focus on finding a versatile lead actress
- Direct actors to deliver authentic and compelling performances
Requirements
- Expert-level experience in film directing, with a strong portfolio of short films or relevant work
- Deep understanding of visual storytelling and cinematic techniques
- Proven ability to direct actors and elicit strong performances
- Experience in managing film productions and working within budget constraints
- Strong communication and leadership skills
