Description:

The Financial Controller is responsible for all the accounting operations at Cresilon, Inc., which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash and bank reconciliations, budgeting, production of periodic financial statements, and maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records. The controller is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and ensure that the company’s results comply with generally accepted accounting principles

Requirements

Responsibilities:

Management

• Manage the accounting operations of the company

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

Transactions

• Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and are at terms that are favorable to the company

• Process payroll in a timely manner

• Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed

• Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis

• Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly

• Ensure adequate inventory record keeping and timely inventory reconciliation

• Operate an adequate accounting software package

• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

• Maintain the chart of accounts

• Maintain an orderly filing system for all paper-based accounting records including a system of document archiving and destruction.

Reporting

• Compile and issue accurate financial statements on a timely basis.

• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate taxes and returns

• Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations

Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics

• Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing

decisions, and contract negotiations

Budgeting

• Manage the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets

• Prepare budgeted vs. actual reports for department managers

• Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management

Compliance

• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit

• Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants

• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience

• 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience from a major accounting firm or division of a large corporation or as a Controller

• Audit experience preferred

• Preference will be given to candidates with Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations

• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and accounting software

The salary range for this role is $150,000-200,000
