Who we’re looking for:

Starry is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Field Sales Supervisor with experience in generating excitement and energy, building and leading teams, and developing skills in new Sales hires. This team leader will supervise the daily operations of a geographically assigned Subscriber Sales team that sells internet service to residents in Starry’s residential portfolio, and will support the goals of driving new revenue and customer growth in the New York City market.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding weekly and monthly revenue and subscriber goals for their assigned territory and ensures their team does the same.
  • Identify, source, and attend potential subscriber acquisition opportunities (door-to-door, in-building events, lead generation and nurturement) to achieve your personal sales and revenue goals.
  • Completes administrative tasks related to tracking and completing sales activities and ensures their team does the same.
  • Work allocated will consist of approximately 70% fieldwork and 30% office work.
  • Support interviewing, hiring, and training of Subscriber Sales staff alongside market leadership.
  • Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable when activity and sales expectations are not met in a consistent and fair manner.
  • Identify knowledge and training gaps within the Subscriber Sales team and develop plans to address them.
  • Collaborate with leaders from Marketing, Subscriber Services and Customer Success within your market to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Monitor the payroll process and ensure timely and accurate approval of all commission payments.
  • Handle employee relation issues, including performance appraisals, coaching, and training.
  • Perform other duties as requested by market leadership.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Outside Sales or related work experience
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess the knowledge and expertise to lead, guide, and develop Subscriber Sales in their role
  • Has a detailed understanding of Starry’s product offerings and value proposition in the New York City market
  • Maintains current, in-depth knowledge of the marketplace, including competition, and ensures relationships with customers, business partners, and co-workers are positive and professional
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Possess strong technical and computer skills
  • Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories and company facilities using a reliable mode of transportation
  • Ability to work outside for extended periods in any season and/or during inclement weather
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems, a myriad of consumer and commercial communications devices (e.g., PDAs, smartphones, routers, modems, converters, and wireless devices), and computer software applications
  • Must be able to work non-traditional work hours such as evenings and weekends
  • Ability to complete documentation accurately

Working Conditions

  • Field and Office environment
  • Outside field environment with exposure to inclement weather
  • Travel required throughout the NYC metropolitan area

Salary of $65,000 plus uncapped commission. Final salary will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and training.
