Full Job Description

H&H is offering an exciting opportunity for an environmental planner to join either our New York City or Rye, NY offices. The environmental planner will work together with teams to support the development of comprehensive plans, zoning analyses, and infrastructure decisions while addressing environmental, social, and economic effects. We specialize in evaluating the impacts of land use and infrastructure projects, programs, and government policies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare planning analyses, including those associated with environmental review (e.g., NEPA, SEQRA, CEQR), climate action, equity, and Environmental Justice
  • Collect and organize raw data, which may include research, interviews with government agencies, map reviews, field investigations
  • Prepare graphics and reports
  • Support traffic analyses
  • Support public involvement activities

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in planning or related field
  • Five+ years of experience in environmental planning or related field
  • Knowledge of Federal and New York environmental policy, including environmental review, climate action, and Environmental Justice
  • Expertise in ecology, endangered/threatened species, cultural/historic resources, and wetlands a plus
  • Technical proficiency: MS Office, ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign. AutoCAD is a plus
  • Strong writing and communication skills

Benefits

Salary range—  $95,000-$110,000 annually. Salary commensurate with experience.
