ELA & Global History Tutor - Queens

Toolkit Tutors is a provider of in-school and after-school tutoring services, focused on enhancing student learning through personalized instruction and dedicated support.

Job Description:

Pay: $30/hr

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated ELA & Global History tutor to join our team in Queens. In this role, you will provide in-person tutoring to high school students during the school day, helping them master ELA & Global History concepts and prepare for assessments.

Compensation and Schedule:

• Target launch date April 1, 2025
• Schedule of 3 days per week, 4 hours each day
• Pay of $30 per hour, including paid sick leave

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct individualized tutoring sessions to help students prepare for the ELA & Global History Regents exams in June
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, including English Language Learners.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to keep students engaged.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to facilitate a supportive learning environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing a degree) in Education, English, History, or a related field.
• Previous experience in tutoring or teaching ELA & Global History to high school students
• Familiarity with the New York State Regents exams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
