Full Job Description
The Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School seeks a passionate, energetic, and dedicated Full-Time Operations Associate to join our team. The Operations Associate is responsible for maintaining and overseeing all student data systems at the school site as well as playing an active role in school culture and operational systems. The ideal candidate must have meticulous attention to detail and be comfortable maintaining the integrity of data that are accessed frequently across the school. The Operations Associate must be personable and able to build systems and clearly communicate those systems to others. The Operations team is seeking an energetic and dedicated individual who is committed to urban education. Additionally, the Operations Associate must be adaptable and flexible to a fast-paced, high-intensity environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities with a ‘roll up your sleeves’ attitude. This is a 12-month position.
The Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School opened its doors to a diverse freshman class of 110 boys and girls in September 2021. This school is the first specialty high school in the entire country for basketball, but NOT for the PLAYING of the game. Former NBA Commissioner David Stern's founding trustee would often say, A Ball and a Book Can Change the World.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Complex project Management: Large project oversight from planning to execution, with direct accountability for results from multiple stakeholders (teachers, building partners, operations associates, etc.). Project examples include but are not limited to registration, scholar health documentation, and medical policy management.
- Scholar Health Management: Handle administrative functions of scholar health and documentation, i.e.: file validation, family communication tasks, etc.
- Emergency Preparedness: Manages tasks associated with emergency preparedness, such as updating the emergency clipboard and evacuation routes and sending approved communication to families during or after emergencies; understands all emergency protocols and is a content expert for staff.
- Support operations and school culture by facilitating routine duties such as: liaising with the nurse in the care of sick students, supervising students during arrival/dismissal/lunch/recess/trips, planning for school events and activities, creating purchase orders for the procurement of supplies, services, equipment, etc., welcoming and assisting students, staff and families in the main office
- Own the annual collection of information from families regarding Free/Reduced Lunch Status, contact information, and immunizations, and enter this data in the appropriate systems
- Draft family communication, as necessary
- Work with instructional staff to prepare and distribute all testing materials.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- Sound understanding of technology (hardware/software) with the ability to provide basic IT support to scholars and teachers
- Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Proactively identifies and assesses problems and effectively brings solutions to resolve.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Receptive to feedback and eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
