About the Role
Our client, a horticultural film studio is seeking a freelance documentary filmmaker in Buffalo, New York, to pursue documentary film projects focused on interesting people and their work with ornamental plants.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the film studio to understand the creative vision and objectives for each project.
- Research and identify compelling stories and subjects related to the horticulture and ornamental plant industry in the Buffalo area.
- Contact potential subjects, establish rapport, and coordinate schedules for filming.
- Utilise personal filming equipment, including camera, tripod, and audio gear, to capture high-quality footage.
Requirements
- Proven experience in documentary filmmaking, with a strong portfolio showcasing storytelling abilities and visual creativity.
- Proficiency in operating professional-grade filming equipment, including cameras, tripods, and audio gear.
- Excellent interviewing and interpersonal skills to build rapport with subjects and capture compelling narratives.
- Strong editing skills and proficiency in video editing software
- Knowledge and appreciation of horticulture, gardening, and the ornamental plant industry.
