About the Organization

The Momentus Capital branded family of organizations - which includes Capital Impact Partners, CDC Small Business Finance, Ventures Lending Technologies and Momentus Securities.

Momentus Securities is a first-of-its-kind mission-driven commercial broker-dealer that will offer a suite of investment banking services (pending FINRA approval), aimed at better connecting investors with impactful investment opportunities across five key segments: Affordable Housing, Healthcare, Education, Small Businesses and Food.

Momentus Securities aims to drive institutional capital towards America’s small businesses and non-profits and to position ‘social impact’ as a fully investable asset class. To do so, Momentus Securities will seek to address the current scale and liquidity limitations in the sectors, which inhibit the deployment of institutional capital.

Essential Responsibilities

    • Develop cashflow and statistical models and forecasts to support decision-making and optimize credit performance.
    • Develop and execute strategies for credit structuring and origination that align with the bank’s mission and social impact. Carrying out the execution process, including documentation, rating agency analytics, and investor analysis.
    • Design and implement complex credit structures tailored to meet both financial and social impact objectives.
    • Oversee the development of credit solutions for diverse sectors, including but not limited to small business loans, affordable housing, charter schools and community development.
    • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in alignment with the bank’s socially focused investment strategies.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, rating agencies, law firms, stakeholders, and partners to drive origination efforts and expand the bank’s market presence.
    • Conduct thorough credit analysis, risk assessment, and due diligence to ensure sound structuring and risk mitigation.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including credit, syndicate, sales, trading, legal counsel, trustees, rating agencies, and investors
    • Assist with processing trades, managing data and ensuring transactions are settled on time.

Requirements

·       Experience:

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in credit structuring and origination within a Wall Street investment bank or similar financial institution.
    • Proven track record of leading complex credit transactions and structuring innovative financial solutions.
    • Experience building businesses from the ground-up actin as a self-starter with a demonstrated roll-up sleeves attitude and without reliance on “big bank” infrastructure to get things done
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA, CFA or advanced degree preferred;

·       Skills:

    • Strong analytical, quantitative, and written and oral communication skills. Strong attention to detail
    • In-depth knowledge of credit markets, financial products, and risk management practices.

o   Good knowledge in compliance and regulations regarding credit/financing

o   Harness sophisticated techniques used in creating complex financial instruments which serve unique funding or investment strategies specifically around various types of debt including loans or receivables.

    • Exhibit strong proficiency with diverse range of credit derivatives and securities designed for optimizing capital structure adjustments whilst managing risks associated therewith comprehensively.
    • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
    • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to develop and interpret complex financial models.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

    • Ability to integrate social responsibility into financial strategies and decision-making processes.

This role is hybrid and is eligible for an annual incentive.
