Customs Compliance Specialist

Mandate:  

Reporting to the department Manager, the Customs Compliance Specialist will be responsible for advisory services in various areas of US Customs compliance. The candidate will have a strong working knowledge of US import regulations, tariff classification skill set, and Free Trade Agreements with a high attention to detail.  

Requirements: 

• Provide assistance and advisory services for clients, which includes but is not limited to the following items: HTS classification, FTA analysis, customs valuation, partner government agency requirements, invoice requirements, customs verification, ADD/CVD, application of customs rulings, and more. 
• College Degree in International Transportation & Customs or related field is preferred 
• Manage incoming emails for Customs Advisory Services by logging them to the appropriate staff and responding to level-appropriate inquiries directly. 
• Product database maintenance. 
• Running reports (Client Activity, volumes, requests) 
• Proficiency in MS Office

• US Customs Brokerage License an asset 
• Experience in CargoWise One system or related brokerage systems is an asset  
• Experience with and understanding of US Customs Regulations 
• Experience with partner government agency rules and regulations for US import 
• CCS designation is an asset
