Anything but an ordinary museum, in 2010 Fotografiska was founded in Stockholm and in late 2019 opened its newest outpost in a treasured, historic landmark building in NYC’s Flatiron District. The iconic NYC and Stockholm locations are complemented by expansion in Tallinn, and a forthcoming Berlin Museum set to open in 2022. Fotografiska’s goals are simple: to inspire a more conscious world through the power of photography, to bring people together, raise awareness and create positive change. The Museum showcases the greatest photographers, whether they are emerging artists or already established internationally.

Located at 281 Park Avenue South, the six-floor, 45,000 sq ft (about half the area of a Manhattan city block). historic landmark is home to an unexpected mix of world-class art, vibrant cultural programming, and exceptional dining experiences. The restaurant, Verōnika, and cocktail lounge, V Bar, designed by Roman and Williams.
At Fotografiska, there are no permanent collections and none of the work is for sale. Fotografiska can respond quickly to ever-changing societal issues, movements, and themes, which is reflected in the immersive, representative, and relevant exhibitions. To date, the New York location has featured work from Ellen von Unwerth, Tawny Chatmon, Helene Schmitz, Adi Nes, and Anastasia Taylor-Lind in partnership with TIME Magazine, Andres Serrano, and others.
The Role
The Cocktail Server is an advocate and ambassador of service excellence, that understands the critical role that exceeding and maintaining service expectations plays in the success of our Bar operations. Our Cocktail Server represent's service excellence by providing kind, knowledgable and humble hospitality alongside warmth and grace in every interaction with our members and guests. Reporting into the Verōnika Bar Manager and Verōnika General Manager, the role entails all aspects of the Bar floor service operations, importantly the thorough and detailed execution of the Sequence of Service.
This is a part-time, temporary role contracted through September 2024.
Requirements
- 5 + years acting as a Cocktail Server or similar role in luxury hospitality, food + beverage environments.
- Experience in high paced Bar floor operations set up, service and pack down for high-end, highly visible entertainment entities.
- Experience working in luxury Bar environments, servicing extensive classic and bespoke cocktail menus, wine programs consisting over 300 + bottles, alongside thoughtfully sourced and highly curated food offerings.
- Supply our members and guests with in depth knowledge of all Verōnika Bar food + beverage menu items and ensure the quality of all food + beverage items delivered are consistently meeting the high standards set by the F&B leadership team.
- Solution oriented and taking pride in the details, the Cocktail Server builds, delivers and stewards the moments that define the Verōnika Bar experience for our members, and guests.
- Consistently provide thoughtful and personal service with the goal to develop a rapport with members, and guests.
- Aid to instill an excellent work environment, working alongside a diverse group of humans from various experiences, countries, and cultures together centered up teamwork and mutual respect.
- Ongoing attendance at scheduled team trainings to ensure detailed product knowledge, growth and professionalism.
- Follow the standards of service unique to our properties, consistently working to improve the delivery of service, implementing all systems to ensure smooth delivery.
- Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
- Execute effective policies to ensure that overall restaurant and bar cleanliness meets State Health Code Standards, with the expectation of passing a Grade A.
- Flourish while working against deadlines while having the ability to be self-motivated, pro-active and to find creative solutions to challenging problems.
- Have a positive impact, taking responsibility and initiative to resolve issues, always clearly communicating with our members, guests and F&B leadership.
