Job Summary
Our mission at Summus is to bring the human connection back to health care, and to accelerate speed and access to high-quality expertise to allow people to make better, more informed medical decisions. Summus uses our proprietary platform to power written Remote Second Opinion (RSO) programs for top academic medical centers in the country, encompassing both pediatric and adult patient populations. Our clinical team performs all aspects of clinical case preparation and works closely with the member experience team, who provides concierge services to guide the patient through the entire process.
We are seeking an experienced clinician to join our team as a Clinical Lead for RSO. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in both adult medicine and pediatrics, experience in virtual care, and a passion for working in an innovative and collaborative environment. This is a remote position, candidates located in the New York/Tri-state area will have the opportunity for a hybrid working schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Triage case requests, which includes assessment of time-sensitivity, complexity, and appropriate resources to complete the opinion
- Perform intake calls with patients and/or families to better understand the reason for seeking a second opinion and to obtain the necessary clinical information to prepare the case for an expert physician
- Identify and curate medical records that are necessary to obtain for the case
- Prepare specialist summaries developed from the information garnered through the intake call and review of medical records
- Prepare the case questions for the expert in a clinically appropriate format that also addresses the goals of the RSO for the patient
- Analyze physician feedback and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation at a case level
- Iterate on current RSO processes and procedures by identifying, developing, and implementing solutions in partnership with Clinical Operations, Member Experience, Product, and Engineering to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Demonstrate excellence in client service, written and oral communication, and problem solving
- Excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, evolving, and challenging environment
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience in a clinical role encompassing adult and pediatrics, ideally with prior leadership experience
- Degree in Medicine, Advanced Practice Nursing, or completion of an accredited PA program
- Passion for making patient-centric, innovative healthcare accessible
- Aptitude for learning new products
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills
- Impeccable attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills
- Receptive to close coaching and feedback

Salary range is $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 annually plus bonus target depending on experience.
