ITE Management, a leading investment manager and private equity firm specializing in the acquisition of transportation equipment and asset operating platforms in the infrastructure sector, is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer to join its dynamic and successful team in New York. Founded in 2014, ITE targets real asset investment opportunities that are cash yielding with downside protection, and benefit from a team with deep, longstanding relationships and financial and operating expertise.  Today, the firm manages over $9bn of assets globally across rail, intermodal, aviation, and emerging technology strategies with office locations in NYC, Chicago and St. Louis.

The Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) oversees all aspects of the accounting and financial reporting functions within the company. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and plays a key role in providing accurate financial information to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities:

  • Fund Accounting & Reporting: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Vendor & Resource Management: Manage the activities of vendors including third-party accounting resources including fund administrators.
  • Infrastructure & Controllership: Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash. Lead audits for all funds and their audited subsidiaries.  Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Financial Reporting: Participate in strategic financial planning and budgeting processes. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Technical Accounting: Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Management of Accounting Team:   Provide leadership, direction, and management to the accounting team. Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial management roles.
  • Proven experience as a Chief Accounting Officer or similar role in a private firm preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP.
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

 

 Salary Range:

  • Estimated base salary range for this position is: $175,000-$250,000. Employees may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
