Full Job Description
We are looking for a Cathodic Inspector in New York who possesses a minimum of (2) years prior experience and training in underground utility corrosion prevention, and has strong organizational skills to complete daily paperwork, maps, and documentation with a clear comprehension of construction units of measurement.
Requirements
Additional requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Must have attended/passed all required Operator Qualification Training/Testing.
- Be knowledgeable in the requirements of OSHA. Will be required to ensure that any job they are overseeing is maintained in a safe manner and meets or exceeds safety and environmental policies and procedures. Inspectors will need to make sure contractor’s equipment is being used within their limits.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, maps, plans, specifications, and procedures. They must possess the ability to keep accurate and detailed field records including daily job reports, material usage and locations and field test records.
- Will be required to inspect work performed by construction contractors and supervised assuring adherence to specifications, proper work methods and appropriate use of facilities and equipment.
- Be able to understand and implement client Standards and Work Procedures.
- Must be able to understand and implement all Environment, Health, and Safety Plan (E-HASP) requirements. Ensures that each contractor complies with the respective environmental rules and regulations for each respective project location.
- Be capable of handling customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Provide input in conjunction with Quality Assurance field visits.
- Assist in the Contractor Performance evaluation process.
- Be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Ensure that all contractors are certified and Operator Qualified per each of the various approved Training Center lists prior to the start of projects. This includes all alcohol and drug testing requirements and the associated approved lists for each contractor.
- Assist on transmission line inspections and completing contingency reports.
- Must use basic CP knowledge to diagnose & troubleshoot failing CP readings and create appropriate work order requests.
- Oversee CP construction & maintenance operations - including test station and anode work.
- Ability to perform basic office admin Tasks such as map preparation, map printing, data entry, scanning, copying.
