Full Job Description

The EVT Care Coordinator position focuses on providing rapid response support to experts experiencing campaigns of harassment and intimidation as a result of their work. The EVT project is a socio-technical system of care that connects experts through an online platform to real people, trained in trauma-informed support. Care Coordinators specialize in providing experts with a customizable care plan to help navigate their needs and concerns in the face of abuse and intimidation. This includes validating experts’ experiences, engaging in active listening, using trauma-informed interviewing techniques to identify the unique needs of each expert, and providing tailored recommendations for support.

Care Coordinators will focus on equipping experts with a range of resources drawn from the EVT toolkit. These may range from digital security guidance to advice on effective communication strategies with colleagues, friends, and family members. Care Coordinators will work to provide experts with tools and support to navigate crises precipitated by online and hybrid forms of harassment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and assistance to experts experiencing online or hybrid forms of abuse and harassment related to their work.
  • Review and screen intake forms submitted by experts seeking assistance.
  • Develop and implement customizable care plans to address the specific needs and concerns of each expert.
  • Maintain regular communication with experts to monitor progress and adjust support plans as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential notes of interactions with experts, adhering to security best practices and confidentiality protocols.
  • Provide digital security recommendations to experts designed to help secure personal information and reduce risk. 
  • Identify options for responding to abuse, while maintaining personal and professional integrity.
  • Collaborate with a wider team to deliver comprehensive support services which may include building consensus around plans, facilitating ideation, and optimizing organizational resources. 
  • Utilize expertise to recommend resource allocations and ensure goals are achieved
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in trauma-informed care in the context of online and hybrid forms of harassment in expert communities and recommend continuous improvements to the organization’s approach to trauma-informed care. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization (such as social work, psychology, or public policy). Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 2+ years experience in a relevant field. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in tasks and projects.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to accommodate and adjust to changing priorities, environments, and tasks.
  • Demonstrates personal characteristics such as empathy and understanding, while maintaining professionalism.
  • Strong team player mentality, capable of contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, ethics, and credibility with the ability to appropriately maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information and situations.
  • Proficient research skills to gather relevant information and data effectively.
  • Experience with trauma-informed methodologies and case management

The compensation for this role is $70,000 annually.
