Seeking Detail-Oriented Bookkeeping Assistant!
Join a dynamic fashion trade show team as a Bookkeeping Assistant
What You'll Do:
- Billing: Invoicing and processing payments for clients
- Support Efficiency: Assist in data entry, reconciliations, and report generation.
- Collaborate: Work closely with our production team to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Seasonal Position: This is a seasonal position running August through October and January through March.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
We are looking for a skilled assistant to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. Responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports, client services, and accounts receivable. A successful candidate should be familiar with all accounting procedures and be able to ensure that the company’s accounts receivable functions run accurately and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the Controller
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Enter key data of financial transactions in database
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
Requirements
- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or Accounts Payable Clerk
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Well organized
- High school degree
- Associate’s degree or relevant certification is a plus
