For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @ Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care. The hospice receives patients from referring institutions throughout New York City and the entire tristate area. The Behavioral Health Counselor will be working in our facility (either day or evening shift). The Behavioral Health Counselor is responsible for assisting the Director of Bereavement in training volunteers/interns, participating in educational programs and facilitating individual counseling or support groups for bereaved children, teens, and adults.
Qualification:
- Minimum of two years in related field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred.
- Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.
Education:
- Master’s degree and license required in either Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Creative Arts Therapy. ( LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT) Certification in Thanatology preferred.
Salary: $80,000K- $81,000K/annually
