The Events team, as part of the Communications and Thought Leadership department, plays a pivotal role in stewarding the broader Echoing Green community and the social innovation ecosystem. By seamlessly integrating storytelling elements into event planning and execution, the team crafts narratives and experiences that resonate with attendees, driving engagement and enhancing brand perception. The Events team is highly collaborative to ensure that initiatives at Echoing Green are not just events but platforms for sharing impactful stories that reinforce the organization’s thought leadership position while fostering connections and leaving a lasting impression. No matter the size, we strive to produce events that are thoughtful, memorable, and meticulously executed.
Reporting to the Manager, Events and Engagements, the Associate, Events and Engagements will support the planning and and execution of virtual and in-person Echoing Green events and engagements across all audiences. Events at Echoing Green consists of the Fellowship Finalist Interviews Program consisting of concurrent multi-day virtual interviews with applicants from around the world, an Annual All Fellows Convening bringing together the Fellow community for a weeklong conference in an international or domestic city of significance to Echoing Green, and other bespoke events including but not limited to brandraising, field-building, donor stewardship and cultivation, and staff events.
This function includes project management, event planning, and administrative tasks. A successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, ready to learn, and interested in using events as an experiential storytelling vehicle for Echoing Green’s growing community. This is a great opportunity for an early career professional with a passion for process, organization, and event production.
What You’ll Do
As the Associate, Events and Engagements, you will lead key work streams that include:
Events planning and production
- Serve as assistant event producer for virtual events and assist with the administration of event software such as Zoom meetings and webinars, breakout sessions and polling, and attendee registration software.
- Support coordination of event logistics for virtual and in-person events, including event scheduling, creating event invitation collateral, managing RSVPS lists, building surveys and event forms, researching vendors, and event registration.
- Plan and schedule events to promote EG network and visibility, such as dinners and receptions.
- Provide on-site assistance during events, including setup and breakdown of events, signage, packing and shipping/delivery of materials, printing name tags, interfacing with event attendees, working with vendors, and other logistics.
- Travel likely 1-3 times annually to represent Echoing Green (both national and international locations)
Communications
- Support event marketing plans by building and maintaining invitation lists across teams.
- Draft event materials and correspondence, including event marketing emails such as invitations, registrations, pre- and post- event correspondence, event recordings, and surveys.
- Help draft/edit event presentation decks and event briefs/run of shows, adhering to the Echoing Green brand guide.
Administrative support
- Create, process, and track event-related contracts and billing/invoices; lead on payment and reimbursement processing.
- Schedule internal and external team meetings and events using Outlook calendar.
- Assist with booking and setting up meeting room space (virtual and in-person), prepare agendas and keep time, take notes, and organize supplies.
- Keep inventory of all event-related collateral and order supplies for events as needed.
- Manage shared email inboxes related to events and provide exceptional and timely service.
- Help manage project management software (Asana) across various events.
- Help manage databases in Salesforce and Blackthorn: manage attendance data for events, create and manage campaigns and reports related to events, process Fellow reimbursements and payments.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Global Social Justice Orientation: Passion for and interest in Echoing Green’s mission, impact, and community. Proficiency and passion for supporting the development of events and engagements centered around promoting social justice, encompassing themes related to race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and class with individuals and groups around the world.
- Hands-on Events Administration: Relevant event planning/production experience, both virtual and in-person. Experience with Zoom event management is required.
- Growth Mindset: Ability to learn quickly, with willingness to sharpen skills through direct, constructive feedback.
- Operational Efficiency Focus: Utilization of proactive project management and organizational skills to ensure sustainable improvements for the long-term. Familiarity with or willingness to learn Asana, Blackthorn, and Salesforce required.
- Sharp Prioritization: Unyielding solution orientation to juggling multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective Collaboration: A collaborative approach to teamwork and project management in order to coordinate and motivate internal and external stakeholders through clear and direct written/oral communication and presentation skills.

Benefits
Salary: $60,000/year
Echoing Green offers a full benefits package designed to support employee wellness. This includes up to 27 days off per year, a best-in-class health insurance which covers medical, dental, and vision needs, fully paid parental leave, a monthly well-being stipend of $100/month, a monthly wireless stipend of $100/month, professional development stipend of $1350 per fiscal year, and a 403(b)-retirement savings plan with an employer match up to 7% of annual salary after first year.
This position will be considered a nonexempt position for purposes of federal wage and hour law, which means that the employee will be eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a given work week. This position will also require the employee to work from our office in New York City 2 days/week, and remotely 3 days/week.
