Assistant Controller - LIFE Trusts
LIFE Trusts is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our organization. As the Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in managing the financial operations of our non-profit organization. You will work closely with the Controller and other members of the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Manage the monthly close process and ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial records
- Perform financial analysis and prepare reports for management
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
- Supervise and train finance department staff
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Assist with the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
- Collaborate with auditors during annual financial audits
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Support the Controller in ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- CPA certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a non-profit setting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience with financial analysis and budgeting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
