The University of Michigan is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Analytical Chemist to join our team in the Education Management industry. Responsibilities

  • Conduct chemical analyses and experiments using a variety of analytical techniques and instruments, such as chromatography, spectrometry, and microscopy.
  • Develop and validate analytical methods to assess the composition, purity, and quality of chemical substances and compounds.
  • Perform routine and non-routine analysis of samples, ensuring accuracy and precision in data interpretation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support research projects and provide analytical expertise and guidance.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
  • Interpret and analyze experimental data, and generate concise reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and techniques in analytical chemistry, and propose innovative approaches to enhance research capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in conducting various analytical techniques, such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and microscopy.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical analysis principles, methodology, and instrumentation.
  • Proficient in data analysis software, such as Microsoft Excel or statistical analysis tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Prior experience in an academic or research setting is highly desirable.
