Position Summary: The Recertification Specialist is responsible for comprehensive monitoring, enforcement, and support to ensure full compliance with program and regulatory requirements. This role oversees all aspects of the annual recertification process.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Notify residents of upcoming recertification
  • Schedule interviews for recertification
  • Request third party verifications
  • Calculating income, assets and expenses based on information obtained
  • Review of tenant file prior to submitting to Compliance Specialist for approval
  • Audit the files onsite prior to uploading them to OneSite/Compliance
  • Monitor Next Available Unit Rule
  • Perform monthly data entry for State reporting
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by Director of Compliance
  • Assists the Compliance leadership in developing compliance policies and procedures.
  • Update required property contact sheets when notified of changes of on-site staff.
  • Initially, it will include catching up past due certifications
  • Opportunity to grow into a Compliance Specialist role, in the future

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain HCCP or equivalent designation within one year.
  • Must be able to demonstrate eligibility requirements of the affordable program.
  • Requirement: a minimum of 3 years in affordable housing.
  • Experience with LIHTC, Bond, HOME programs.
  • Experience with OneSite is preferred.

Physical Demands/ Work Environment:

The duties of this position are usually performed in an outdoor setting.  The employee may be exposed to fluctuating outdoor temperatures and other weather conditions while moving from one location to another.  While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand, walk, sit, or use hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
