Introduction:
We are a leading, national consulting firm that provides compassionate, full-spectrum emergency management services including planning and preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation services to the public and private sectors before, during and after a natural disaster or catastrophic event.
Our mission is to provide compassionate consulting services to local, state, federal, and industry clients, active in disaster response, recovery, and preparedness. We will be on time, on target, and on budget with the services aligned to the evolving threats and hazards facing our nation.
The position will be guided by ACDC’s Corporate Values Platform in all activities.
This position is expected to be onsite in Santa Fe, NM for (6) months, with a target deployment of July 28, 2024 (estimated). Successful candidates will not have their resume already submitted with another firm for this work.
Position Summary:

Mission of Role/Position Summary:

The Site Inspector will play a vital role in assessing impacted areas, data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with established guidelines and policies. Applicants should be passionate about making a difference in the world, and interested in supporting local, state, and federal jurisdictions prepare for and recover from disasters.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

- Ensure deadlines are met and inspection schedules are followed.
- Collect, review, and analyze data, and prepare reports.
- Competently perform required inspections and related services as directed.
- Conduct research on applicable inspection items, protocol and eligibility.
- Utilize systems of record or other repository databases as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to be on-site in Santa Fe, NM for at least 6 months, up to a year.
- Ability to travel to surrounding impacted areas.
- Diligence, thoroughness, and excellent attention to detail.
- Valid drivers’ license, auto insurance and reliable transportation.
- Ability to create reports, schedules and be proficient in MS Office suite.
- Strong communication skills to successfully collaborate with program staff, homeowners, and other contractors.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
- Strong familiarity with state and local governments is necessary.
- Excellent critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized, detail oriented and self-motivated.
- Strong time management skills.
- Strong desire to help people.
- Ability to be flexible and make quick decisions as disasters change and develop.
Expected Hours of Work:
Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Overtime may be required, but not guaranteed. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.
Travel Requirements:
- Work on-site, for at least 6 months is expected for this position, up to a year.
- Ability to travel to surrounding impacted areas
- Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands:
- Physical requirements include climbing ladders, crawling under buildings and maneuvering through steep or rough terrain at high altitudes and through construction sites for prolonged periods.
- Mobility required on-site with clients.
- Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.
Working Environment:
- Emergency management consultants may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.
Requirements
Experience and Education Required
- Must have at least 5 years of experience as a site inspector (with high school diploma or equivalent).
- Must meet state licensure or certification requirements where applicable.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, i.e. Word.
- Must have the ability to navigate the internet for research purposes.
- Must be competent in smart phone usage.
- Ability to utlize a smart phone with proficiency.
- Experience utlizing systems of record and other databases.
- Familiarity with system of record or other repository databases.
- Should have experience utilizing Xactimate.
Experience and Education Preferred
- 5+ years of experience performing similar inspection activities.
- Preferred knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and trade practices.
- Preferred knowledge of PA eligibility, law, regulations, and policies, and familiarity with other FEMA Programs (e.g., Individual Assistance, Hermit’s Peak Program, etc.).
- Preferred OSHA training certification.
- Experience with the FEMA Substantial Damage Estimator Tool (SDE).
- Local resident to Santa Fe, NM.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Additional Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required. We are not able to employ those located outside of the US.
- Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
