Requirements

Before applying, make sure you have and/or are able to:

• Active ASL interpreter certification/license in any state 
• New Mexico Department of Education certification preferred, but not required (we reimburse for cross-licensing)!
• Must be fluent in ASL
• EIPA score of at least a 3.5 on both WRITTEN and PERFORMANCE assessments is required
• Availability for the 2024-2025 school year
• At least 2 years experience in a school-based setting
• We prefer 1+ year experience providing online services (if not, we need you to be tech-savvy and hungry to learn!)
• Knowledge of current instructional methodologies used in the education of deaf and hearing children
• Participate in the development of IEPs and IFSPs as needed
• Assist in providing and setting up all necessary equipment and materials to ensure an appropriate education for students with hearing loss needs
• Employ amplification devices
• Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
• Have a professional, dedicated space for working remotely
• Passion for working with children
