Corus Health, proud recent recipient of Albuquerque's prestigious Top 50 Workplace Award, is currently seeking a dynamic, connected Director of Personal Care to oversee operations of this important department of our full-service home care agency. The personal care director will ensure quality and safe delivery of personal care services and assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operations to the Personal Care Program. This role includes leading care staff and collaborating with other departments to meet the needs of clients. The director will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of care while ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of both clients and employees. The Director is also responsible for developing and maintaining key strategic partnerships in the local healthcare community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the personal care team, including hiring, training, and evaluating caregivers and support staff.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of personalized care plans for each client to ensure they receive the highest quality care.
- Collaborates with the nursing, medical, liaison, and scheduling teams to coordinate care across all service lines and ensure smooth operations.
- Implement quality control measures and conduct regular audits of care services to ensure continuous improvement.
- Oversee the department’s budget, including staffing levels, supply management, and financial forecasting.
- Meets or exceeds established productivity goals.
- Maintain accurate records of care services, including incident reports, client outcomes, and staff performance, and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Assist supervisors with annual review and update policies and procedures.
- Provide/assist with orientation and in-service training programs.
- Reports all allegations of patient abuse, and/or misappropriation of patient property.
- Promotes growth and profitability of company through responsible use of marketing materials and other resources.
- Represents the organization's mission and vision to other groups, organizations and the general public in a professional manner.
- Maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
- Supports agency’s philosophy, goals, objectives, mission, vision, and values.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Management experience preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of personal care experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Commitment to upholding the values and mission of Corus Personal Care.
- Promotes positive working relationships with patients, families, facilities, physicians and community service agencies.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and interruptions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective channels of communication.
- Ability to develop and maintain rapport with patients and families.
- Travel necessary as needed.
- Must operate a car in a safe manner and maintain a valid driver’s license.
