Truck Reconditioning Manager

The Truck Reconditioning Manager is responsible for the entire reconditioning process for our used trucks so that they are in good and sellable condition.  This person is responsible for the entire process from when a truck is pulled out of service until the time the truck is handed over to the Used Truck Department (UTD) for sale.  This position will also assist with any after-sale concerns and work needing to be done to a truck after it have gone through the reconditioning process.

Requirements

You will:

• Work with other MTL shop managers to make sure that all turn in damage has been repaired prior to sale.
• Work with other MTL shop managers to make sure that all mechanical repairs are made on the trucks prior to sale.
• Work with inside personnel or outside vendors to make sure that all trucks are de-id, cleaned, painted and put into the proper sale condition.
• Coordinate truck moves utilizing service, rental, used truck, or other runners to make sure that trucks are moving through the reconditioning process.
• Ensure that MTL shop managers have billed all damage and repairs back to customers that should be billed back.
• Work with the UTD manager to make wholesale/retail decisions early in the recon process advising on repair costs so that we do not spend money repairing trucks we are planning to send to an auction.
• Perform QC inspections to make sure all trucks have been reconditioned to Miller standards and are ready for sale.
• Assist Used Truck Department as necessary in selling trucks.
• May occasionally require travel to our other Used Truck location in Amsterdam, NY

You have:

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. 
• Broad knowledge of all types of vehicles and Mechanically knowledgeable. 
• Experience in Truck Maintenance and Service Department management. 
• Computer skills in Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Work Conditions: Will stand and move throughout the UTD facility (lot, office, Service Department) for most of the shift. Will spend time outdoors showing vehicles to prospective customers and to drive vehicles in traffic during test drives. Evening, holiday and weekend work hours will be required.
