Full Job Description
Hire Resolve’s client is a leading Civil Engineering firm that is urgently seeking the expertise of a Senior Environmental Scientist in Red Bank, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Support the evaluation of the nature and extent of contamination, support risk assessments and evaluate remediation alternatives.
- Review Site investigation and site characterization reports and understand the human and ecological health risks quickly.
- Knowledge of NJDEP regulations and guidance documents.
- Experience planning and conducting environmental field investigations and data collection/sampling.
- Understand and discuss a Conceptual Site Model with a team of collaborators.
- Oversee staff conducting field activities (i.e., drilling, sampling, maintenance activities, and routine testing) and subcontractors.
- Conduct site testing, design/optimize remediation systems, evaluate viable remedial alternatives, and prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures for engineering analysis
- Compile and assess environmental data using spreadsheets, databases and GIS.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and professional technical reports and presentations.
- Document research and review related to environmental impacts.
- Provide exemplary skills and knowledge of health and safety practices and protocols.
- Participation in team-based project work product resulting in client satisfaction and the on-time completion of quality technical work product.
- Understand and implement Quality Assurance/ Quality Control procedures including critical reviews of work by junior staff members.
- Prepare cost estimates, project schedules and project proposals for continuing investigation and remedial activities at various sites.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license that is in good standing with Driver Performance Rating System.
- Excellent communication skills including communication with the management staff as well as regulators and direct communication with clients.
Requirements
- Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science or related discipline.
- Experience Requirement: 5+ years
- Software: MS Office is required. AutoCAD, MS Project, and ArcGIS are a plus.
- Certifications: HAZWOPER experience is required. A valid HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
- Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license
