Full Job Description

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for handling, sorting, manifesting, shipping, receiving, retrieving and delivering all clean and soiled textiles throughout Ocean Casino Resort including the Hotel, all Restaurants, all Pools and Ocean Beach, etc. They will assist with and monitor all areas within the Laundry Department.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensures hotel laundry is distributed and received according to procedures
  • Assists in storage and upkeep of hotel laundry as required
  • Maintains inventory control, puts stock away
  • Checks and marks for quality of cleaning, folding, packing and returns of laundry
  • Responsible for counting and sorting soiled linen, and placing soiled linen in carts
  • Responsible for entering/manifesting all soiled linen and/or terry into the linen tracking system before transporting to Laundry
  • Responsible for all clean linen and/terry delivered into the linen tracking system before distributing to Ocean Outlets
  • Prepares all floor bins in accordance with requisitions
  • Transfers all linen to and from loading dock
  • Unpacks all deliveries and shelves items
  • Maintains neatness/orderliness of linen room, including tasks such as, sweeping and mopping daily, breaking down all cartons, bundling and transferring cartons to loading dock, etc.

Essential Functions

  • Exposure to casino related environmental factors, including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise and stress related to servicing customers in a fast pace environment
  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the laundry areas, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting for long periods
  • Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shift hours
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 70 pounds and pull carts of linen up to 800 pounds

Requirements

  • Previous experience in housekeeping an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively with team members
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
