Talent Vision, a leading Staffing and Consulting Firm, is collaborating with a dynamic charter school in Trenton, NJ, to fill the position of Science Teacher. In this role, you will have the opportunity to inspire students to explore the wonders of the natural world and foster a genuine interest in scientific inquiry and discovery. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cover a variety of scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
  • Utilize hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based activities to facilitate deep understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Assess student learning through various evaluation methods and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
  • Create a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, curiosity, and a love for learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects that connect science with other subject areas.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in science education and participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and other relevant information.
  • Encourage student participation in science-related extracurricular activities, such as science fairs or clubs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification in Science for middle or high school is required.
  • Prior teaching experience, specifically in science instruction, is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of scientific principles and practices.
  • Passion for teaching science and engaging students in inquiry-based learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parents/guardians.
  • Flexibility and creativity in adapting to diverse learning needs.
  • Familiarity with technology and tools that enhance science instruction.
