The Van Dyk Group, a leading real estate company, is seeking a Labor Relations Specialist to join our team. As a Labor Relations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining positive relationships between the management and labor unions, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, and promoting a harmonious work environment. You will also provide guidance and support to management and employees in matters related to labor relations.
In this role, you will collaborate with various stakeholders, including union representatives, managers, and employees, to mediate and resolve labor disputes, negotiate labor contracts, and ensure adherence to collective bargaining agreements. Additionally, you will monitor and analyze labor market trends and developments to provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for labor unions, handling all labor relations matters
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with union representatives, facilitating effective communication and collaboration
- Negotiate labor contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and aligning with the company's goals and objectives
- Mediate and resolve labor disputes, promoting a positive work environment and minimizing disruptions to operations
- Advise management on labor relation matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations
- Provide training and guidance to managers and employees on labor relations policies and practices
- Conduct research and analysis on labor market trends and developments, and provide recommendations on labor relations strategies to senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, labor relations, or a related field
- Proven experience in labor/employee relations, preferably in the real estate industry
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software systems is preferred
