Full Job Description

The IT Integration Architect is responsible for the planning, coordination, development, and supervision of all activities related to the integration of software programs, applications, and third-party solutions to meet the business requirements of the organization. The integration needs are primarily focused on connecting on-premises and cloud-based systems, such as ERP, CRM, CMS, and other systems. This position will develop and maintain application integration architecture blueprint for the organization. It will also oversee the governance, security, and performance of the IT systems as it relates to the systems selection, integration, and support. 

Although the location of the position is in Newton, NJ, from time to time it may be required to undertake duties at other Thorlabs locations.

 

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

·         Manage day to day activity as it relates to collaboration and partnership between different IT teams.  

·         Oversee critical steps within the System Development Life Cycle that impact enterprise-wide development and architecture standards.

·         Provide oversight in standards adherence through reviews of project work including technical specifications.

·         Review current integration points and systems and documentation.

·         Provide expert advice to project teams on use of integration technology, data architecture and modeling, system architecture including integration best practices.

·         Assist with analysis, support, and management of the current integrated systems.

·         Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.

·         Develop plans for upgrades, updates, and improvements as it relates to system integrations.

·         Partner with leaders of other disciplines to ensure proposed solutions align with information, technology, infrastructure, business, and security architecture.

·         Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support for the IT integration projects.

·         Assist with development of monitoring solutions for integration.

·         Develop training plans and documentation as it relates to integrated IT systems.  

·         Design and develop automation to reduce failures, manual tasks improving performance, stability, and availability.

·         Ensures that security standards, practices, and policies are incorporated.

·         Ability to develop reports, dashboards and summarize proposals and estimates.  

·         All other projects and duties as required or assigned.

In addition to the essential functions and duties listed above, all positions are also responsible for:

  • Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.

The Company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.

Physical Activities:

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

 

Requirements

Qualifications

Experience:

·         3-5 years of experience with systems design and integrations.  

·         3-5 years of experience designing, deploying, and managing Enterprise level IT Systems.

·         10 years of experience in System and Network Engineering.

 

Education:

·      Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent fields in IT or equivalent experience.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

·      Expertise in various IT domains, such as cloud computing, storage management, security, network, infrastructure, application, and integration.

·      Expertise in solution design and development, enterprise application support, in addition to strong business understanding and project management.

·      Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

·      Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

·      Strong documentation and conduct knowledge transfer to internal staff.

·      Experience with complex and large-scale IT enterprise solutions.

·      Experience with enterprise architecture, systems architecture, integration architecture and data architecture standards, frameworks, and practices.

·      Experience with the implementation of Continuous Integration practices and tooling to support automated build, delivery, and regression tests.

·      Experience with standard change management and configuration policies.

·      Experience with Cost Management and analysis.

·      Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.

 

Other:

·      Occasional global travel required supporting corporate offices.

·      Occasional weekend maintenance
