Gary’s Wine & Marketplace is hiring a Fractional Marketing Manager. This position is 10-20 hours per week.
Gary’s Wine & Marketplace is a leading wine retail chain selling spirits, beer, gourmet foods, and giftware. We differentiate ourselves from our competitors by offering an extremely high level of service and a broad array of high-quality products at low prices. Garyswine.com is frequented by over 100,000 unique visitors each month, and the Gary’s Wine mobile app has been downloaded over 40,000 times.
As the Marketing Manager, you are responsible for driving the success of our marketing strategy. The goals for this position are as follows:
- Increase in-store and online traffic.
- Increase basket size in-store and online.
- Increase the profitability of the product mix purchased by focusing on high-margin products.
- Increase brand awareness and communicate the ethos of Gary’s Wine & Marketplace in ways that effectively reach our diverse and multi-generational customer base
General Responsibilities:
- Communication
- Liaise between the marketing team and store as it relates to marketing campaigns.
- Provide weekly updates on marketing campaigns in progress to Managers and the Leadership team and maintain an open line of communication for feedback from stores to make sure their marketing needs are being met.
- Oversee the marketing-related Slack channels to ensure the marketing team is actively and promptly communicating with other team members in a timely and helpful manner.
- Analytics
- Prepare analytics and insights recap for biweekly email meetings, analyzing what went well with emails and what could go better.
- Provide analytical recaps of the marketing campaign, with takeaways/suggestions to improve performance for future events.
- Project Management & Leadership
- Directly manage the work products of our team of marketing team members.
- Oversee a marketing calendar and ensure all deliverables are followed up on and deadlines are met.
- Pitch new marketing ideas and foster marketing team members to pitch ideas as well.
- Oversee procurement of signage for in-store displays.
- Oversee planning and execution of customer-facing educational calendar.
- Actively review all website, mobile app, digital, and in-store creative assets to ensure all meet our brand standards and align with strategic marketing goals.
- Misc. Marketing
- Facilitate partnerships with trade organizations.
- Meet with digital agency weekly to ensure that online ads efforts perform well and align with overall strategic goals.
- Oversee marketing of special events with suppliers (e.g., wine dinners).
- Oversee growth & development of Gary’s Rewards program.
- Oversee the growth and marketing of the Gary’s Direct program.
- Develop and oversee the marketing budget.
Expectations:
- Availability to work from our Madison or Bernardsville store.
- Excellent Excel skills and an understanding of key marketing metrics (e.g., ROAS, CPA, etc.).
- 8+ years of marketing experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An understanding of various marketing channels (ecommerce, email campaigns, SMS, in-store marketing, etc.).
Requirements
- Proven experience in a marketing management role, preferably in retail or consumer goods.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in preparing and interpreting marketing analytics.
- Exceptional project management skills with a track record of overseeing marketing campaigns from inception to completion.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
