Full Job Description
This role involves performing electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting within a highly regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environment. The position requires a skilled and experienced electrician to ensure compliance with GMP standards and maintain operational efficiency of critical systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical systems to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Work on facility systems, including lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems.
- Provide support for specialized pharmaceutical equipment, such as bioreactors, cleanroom systems, and laboratory instruments.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operation of electrical systems in production and laboratory areas.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to perform installations and repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system upgrades.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with GMP, FDA, and OSHA regulations.
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies to minimize disruptions to operations.
- Participate in validation and qualification processes for new equipment and system upgrades.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical systems is preferred.
- Licensed electrician with 3–5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and GMP compliance requirements.
- Experience with electrical systems supporting cleanrooms, process equipment, and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and electrical equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
- Physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, may be required.
- Work in environments with temperature variations, cleanrooms, and exposure to chemicals, adhering to safety protocols.
- May require flexible hours, including nights and weekends, based on operational needs.
