About the Role
The Dealer Trainee will be instructed in two core games over the course of a 6 weeks period. Upon successful completion, the trainee will be eligible for a Part Time Table Games Dealer (Swing Shift) position with Ocean Casino Resort.
Position Responsibilities
- Properly place, remove, shuffle, and cut playing cards for table games.
- Operate all Table Games Department equipment.
- Know rules and bet payouts for all table games.
- Know all procedures, rules and guidelines pertaining to Table Games Department.
- Learn protection and control of the game
- Learn how to exchange currency for gaming chips and pay or collect bets according to house rules in an accurate manner
Essential Functions
- Must be able to stand at workstation for prolonged periods of time, entire shift
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors, including but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise & stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as business needs require.
What’s Required
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Must qualify for, obtain and maintain a New Jersey gaming license
- Must pass an audition upon the conclusion of the training period.
- Possess strong guest service skills.
- Must possess high school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Must successfully pass an audition, demonstrating level of proficiency.
- Must be quick, analytical, and observant with good math skills.
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills.
