Full Job Description

The New York Giants are looking for Data Engineer / Manager, Business Data Operations that will be involved in the development and maintenance of the business intelligence infrastructure for the organization. This role is primarily responsible for the acquisition, storage, transformation, extraction and utilization of data through the use of databases, APIs, integrations and ETL processes. 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Giants’ existing data warehouse ecosystem, related connected databases and data feeds into key business systems (Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Teradata, etc)
  • Manipulate and mine data from database tables (e.g. KORE AWS Redshift Data Warehouse, Microsoft SQL Server) using advanced tools and techniques (SQL, Python, R).
  • Build and maintain data sources, custom views and related ETL/ELT processes across business operations and platforms that enforce clear, consistent, accurate and well-integrated data across a variety of sources and destinations.
  • Build out new API integrations to add new sources and/or upgrade existing feeds into our data ecosystem
  • Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, validation, automation, efficiency, and overall process improvement.
  • Explore and create new data models, software and algorithms that continue to improve data visualization, presentation, and ease of information delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply analytical techniques to extract actionable insights through analysis of large-scale, high-dimensional data from a variety of data sources.
  • Collaborate with analysts and business teams to improve business intelligence tools, increase data accessibility and foster data-driven solutions and decision making across the organization.
  • Assist with other analytical and technical duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, statistics, business analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong SQL programming skills with an understanding of database design and data collection methodology.
  • Experience with AWS platforms and technologies (Redshift, S3, etc).
  • Experience connecting and retrieving data from multiple platforms into a unified data set using various APIs and applicable programming languages (Python, C#, etc.).
  • Experience in building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes to centralize and organize data, including use of SSIS.
  • Ability to comprehend and debug complex system integrations.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tool preferred
