Consumer Resource Specialist

When we think about our health, it is quite common that we only consider our physical health needs. At BHH, we work to change the thought process to include all social determinants of health including: mental health, substance use issues, community safety, education, economic and food security. The food security program will connect the community with our food pantry, host congregate dining, establish Ocean County’s Food Recovery Network as well as providing case management support for barrier reduction, community awareness and follow-up services.

Position Title: Client Benefit Specialist
Position Type: Full Time; 35 Hours/Weekly

Salary: $36,000 - $40,000

Responsibilities:

• Front desk coverage including answering phones and appointment scheduling
• Provide program participants with direct assistance in obtaining basic needs
• Provide transportation and technical assistance when applying for benefits and securing resources
• Coordinate confidential and timely information releases, forwarding consents to necessary parties
• Review client rights at time of admission
• Ensure program supplies are available ordering more as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a setting providing access to community resources and benefits for vulnerable populations
• Valid NJ Driver's License with less than 6 points
