CADC Substance Abuse Counselor Internship

At Bright Harbor Healthcare, we recognize how hard it can be for individuals experiencing addiction to seek substance abuse treatment. Taking that first step can be daunting.  Our CADC Interns assist our Recovery Staff in the provision of substance use specific services. The ideal CADC intern will be enrolled in CADC courses and has some experience working with the SUD population.

Position Title:CADC/Substance Abuse Counselor Intern
Position Type: Internship; hours as needed

Department: Recovery Services

• Assist in conducting individual and group counseling sessions to provide support and guidance to clients dealing with substance use disorders
• Collaborate with counselors to develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address clients' unique needs and goals
• Support clients in identifying triggers and developing coping strategies to maintain sobriety and promote recovery
• Participate in the documentation of client progress, including maintaining accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and treatment outcomes

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency
• Currently enrolled in CADC classes
• Experience with recovery groups or working with the substance use disorder population preferred
