Do you have a passion for helping others? Love scheduling complex medical appointments? Have an eye for detail? Join ROC as a Surgery Scheduler! This position will remain posted until filled.
You would talk to patients and help get all the details in place for scheduling their surgeries. We want our patients to get back to moving the way they want to be moving and if they need surgery, we need a knowledgeable person to get that set up. Work collaboratively with your team, our patients, and hospitals to get the surgeries arranged. Join a close knit team and find your people here at ROC.

What would you do as a Surgery Scheduler?
The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patient surgeries and other complex medical appointments in coordination with physician protocols. You can expect to regularly:
- Communicate with patients in person or by phone to schedule the next step in their patient care;
- Communicate with physicians to effectively schedule surgeries and maximize the amount of surgeries in the operating room;
- Communicate with community hospitals and maintain relationships to be able to schedule surgeries at their respective locations;
- Use Electronic Medical Records system to match physician availability with patient’s preferences to successfully schedule patients’ surgeries appointments.
Requirements
- Certifications/Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of;
- Customer services principles and practices;
- Experience
- One (1) year of experience working in a medical office to gain understanding of medical terminology and workflows;
- Six (6) months’ experience working in a back-office position in a medical setting (medical assisting, nursing assisting, casting, etc.);
- Scheduling complex medical procedures (such as surgeries, MRI images, etc.);
- Communicating effectively and professionally with physicians, various levels of employees, outside entities and patients;
- Using attention to detail to review work and check for errors to ensure accuracy;
- Using computer systems and applications, including entering data and typing.
