Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Senior Electrical Designer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful design and implementation of electrical systems for multifamily projects. Collaborating closely with our team of experienced engineers, you will be responsible for:
Design and Engineering:
- Lead the electrical design process from conceptualization to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and project requirements.
- Develop comprehensive electrical plans, specifications, and drawings tailored to the unique needs of each project, considering factors such as building size, structure, and utility availability.
- Conduct load calculations and analyze utility requirements to optimize system efficiency and performance.
Project Management:
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, architects, and contractors to integrate electrical systems seamlessly within the overall project framework.
- Proactively identify and address potential challenges or obstacles related to electrical equipment lead times, utility coordination, and documentation submission.
- Monitor project progress, budget, and timelines to ensure milestones are met and deliverables are achieved on schedule.
Quality Assurance:
- Perform thorough reviews and evaluations of electrical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy, functionality, and compliance with project objectives.
- Implement quality control measures to minimize errors, RFIs, and change orders, thereby enhancing project efficiency and reducing costs.
Client Engagement:
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, offering expert guidance and technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular meetings and presentations to communicate project status, updates, and recommendations, fostering strong client relationships and satisfaction.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required
- 3+ years of experience in electrical design and engineering, with a focus on multifamily or commercial projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
