We are seeking a seasoned procurement professional who possesses a strong track record of strategic sourcing and negotiation. You thrive in high-pressure environments, and take pride in being a key contributor to our manufacturing operations and our company's financial success. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional skills in building supplier relationships, optimizing supply chain processes, and driving cost savings.

Experience sourcing nutraceutical products or purchasing in a make to order environment is highly desired!

Primary Responsibilities

• Foster strong relationships with key suppliers and negotiate pricing of raw materials, packaging supplies, and shipping cost.
• Stay informed of economic, and industry trends or conditions that may affect the supply chain.
• Scout for new vendors, assess capabilities, and negotiate prices for new and existing products.
• Develop and execute inventory management strategies to minimize waste and maintain optimal supply levels.
• Issue requests for quotes, product samples, and supplier documentation.
• Create and manage purchase orders ensuring accuracy and price compliance.
• Maintain and update material lead times and pricing in ERP system.
• Partner with Quality and R&D teams on supplier approval to ensure quality, regulatory compliance and product specification. Assist in the resolution of any material issues or returns.
• Collaborate with Warehouse team on scheduling receipt of materials and minimizing shipping issues.
• Act as a liaison between our suppliers and internal teams to help coordinate the return or disposal of expired materials.
• Oversee the timely and cost-effective coordination of expedited materials and logistics.
• Manage vendor scorecard and evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and pricing.
• Attend industry and vendor events, trainings and conferences.
• Other purchasing responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field highly desired OR a combination of education and experience.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing in a high volume manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of logistics management and international shipping processes.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills; adept at communicating internally with various departments and externally with vendors.
• Outstanding negotiation and relationship building abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi-functional, multi-cultural environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite and advanced used of Excel.
• Experience using MRP tools. Global Shop Solutions experience a plus.
• Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, and ability to effectively multi-task including addressing changing priorities.
• CPSM or APICS Certification a plus.
