Full Job Description
The Purchasing/Receiving Clerk will purchase goods and services necessary for the Hospital, while making the most high-quality and cost-effective purchases. This position will handle a wide range of administrative and supportive tasks, have impeccable follow through skills and must have ability to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers. This person must be well organized and be able to interact with both staff and external contacts (at all levels and sometimes under pressure), and must be flexible, resourceful and efficient. Basic knowledge of computer skills and set up of monitors, phones and printers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop profitable purchasing strategies and analyze supplier offers
- Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics
- Receives all incoming supplies, documents, and inventories incoming products
- Delivers and stocks inventory on units
- Monitors inventory supplies and stock levels by walking units to determine needs
- Maintain in stock items required for the facility and re-order when necessary
- Implement and maintain inventory control and keeps updated reports
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contract
- Review supplies to ensure quality
- Prepare and submit detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures etc.)
- Assist with setting up computer equipment, to include monitors, phones and printers
Requirements
High school degree or equivalent required.
Previous experience as a Purchasing/Receiving Clerk preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A strong analytical mindset to include basic computer set up and operation
Outstanding organizational skills and record keeping
Detail oriented with accurate data entry skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to lift 40 pounds or more
