The Digital Media Director will serve as the leader of the digital department, playing a pivotal role in strategic planning, execution, and performance reporting across digital platforms. This role demands expertise across multiple channels, including display, mobile, paid social, SEM, and SEO. Acting as a client-facing agency representative, the Digital Media Director will provide insights across all digital areas while leading a team to ensure the delivery of high-quality and results-driven campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Development:
      • Comprehensive Planning: Develop and implement digital marketing strategies, including social media, display, SEM, and SEO, aligning them with broader business objectives.
      • Vendor Management: Oversee vendor relationships and negotiations to ensure budget optimization and alignment with expectations.
    • Campaign Management:
      • Multi-Platform Execution: Lead digital campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and others, ensuring cohesive planning, budgeting, and execution.
      • Campaign Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize campaigns to maximize performance and ROI.
    • Data Analytics and Reporting:
      • Performance Analysis: Analyze metrics using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights to track and enhance campaign effectiveness.
      • Senior Leadership Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on performance, budget usage, and key KPIs, with actionable insights for future campaigns.
    • Team Leadership:
      • Team Development: Manage a team of specialists by hiring, training, mentoring, and guiding them toward success.
      • Process Optimization: Document and refine departmental processes to ensure efficiency, quality assurance, and financial accountability, including checks and balances on media spend and performance.
      • Culture Building: Foster a positive, collaborative team culture focused on growth, innovation, and excellence.
    • Budget Management:
      • Resource Allocation: Oversee digital advertising budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
      • Profitability Oversight: Collaborate with the accounts team to manage resource allocation and meet profitability benchmarks, with a focus on creating a profitable digital department.
    • Trend Monitoring:
      • Innovation and Insights: Stay informed about emerging digital marketing trends, tools, platforms, and best practices. Integrate these innovations to continuously improve campaign performance.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration:
      • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with internal teams (client services, traditional media, public relations) and external vendors to develop cohesive, integrated digital strategies.
    • Brand and Professional Standards:
      • Brand Consistency: Ensure consistent messaging across all digital channels, maintaining and enhancing the online brand presence.
      • Professional Integrity: Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

Requirements

    • Education:
      • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Communications, or a related field is required.
    • Experience:
      • 7+ years of experience in digital marketing, with proven success in managing multi-channel campaigns (display, social, SEM, SEO, mobile).
      • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, overseeing digital marketing teams and strategies.
      • Experience working in an agency environment is highly preferred, particularly with client-facing responsibilities.
      • Vendor and partner management experience, including negotiating contracts and managing relationships, is essential.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Proficiency in digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Business Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, SEMrush, Moz, and other industry-standard platforms.
      • Strong data analysis skills: Experience with analyzing campaign metrics, creating dashboards, and reporting results to senior management and clients.
      • Familiarity with tag management, tracking pixels, and A/B testing for conversion optimization.
      • Knowledge of budget management tools and practices.
    • Strategic Skills:
      • Ability to develop comprehensive digital marketing strategies that align with overall business goals and deliver measurable results.
      • Proven ability to optimize campaigns to meet and exceed KPIs, with a focus on ROI and cost-efficiency.
    • Leadership and Management Skills:
      • Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams, including mentoring and guiding junior staff members.
      • Ability to foster a positive, collaborative work environment and promote professional development among team members.
      • Experience in managing cross-functional teams, working closely with internal departments such as client services, creative, and traditional media.
    • Communication Skills:
      • Strong client-facing skills: Proven experience acting as a primary point of contact for clients, with the ability to explain complex digital strategies in an accessible manner.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
      • Proven ability to manage and resolve conflict or challenges with diplomacy and professionalism.
    • Industry Knowledge:
      • Deep understanding of digital marketing trends, best practices, and innovations, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and platforms.
      • Familiarity with regulatory and privacy standards (such as GDPR and CCPA) and how they impact digital marketing strategies.
    • Personal Attributes:
      • Detail-oriented with strong project management skills to handle multiple campaigns and deliverables simultaneously.
      • Results-driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
