Associated Veterinary Partners (AVP) is looking for a Total Compensation Manager to join our People and Success team! AVP is a fast-growing, partnership-focused owner and operator of veterinary hospitals across the US. AVP is primarily growing via acquisitions.

The Vice President of People and Success is looking for a trusted partner to continue to form the culture of the People & Success department.  Looking for someone with solid experience but wanting to expand on the entrepreneurial side of People and Success.   

Qualified candidates should demonstrate a growth-focused mindset, be self-motivated, and have excellent communication and organizational skills.

This candidate will have the opportunity to be involved with top-tier conversations with external partners as we build the department.

This is a remote role, and the candidate must reside in St Louis.   

Also, this role will be responsible for our HRIS which is Paylocity.   

Candidates with experience in Paylocity will be the preferred candidates however experts in the field of HRIS will be considered.  

Degree in Human Resources or at least 10 years’ experience required. 

Comp: $80-100K 

Below is a sample of the duties one would expect during the work weeks for this role. 

During Payroll Weeks  

  • Payroll Administration (See Paylocity statement above) – Linked with Training our practice managers on the Check register and understanding payroll at the local level.  We process payroll for 21 entities and growing. 
  • 401k – Linked with Training our practice managers on 401k Impact on retention 
  • Benefits – Maintaining Employee Navigator the online Benefit enrollment System 
  • Benefits -Reconciliation of accounts 
  • Benefits – Preparing and filing invoices for the Controller
  • Operational Tax Registrations 

During Non-Payroll Weeks 

  • HRIS Analysis – Paylocity System is our partner. 
  • Calculating Production Pay and auditing historical Production Pay 
  • for our veterinarians across the network.  This person will gain valued financial insight with a partnership with finance.   
  • Onboarding new team members and ad hoc reporting within HRIS. 
  • Training and development of Practice Magers (See above) 
  • Generate ad-hoc reports within Paylocity (for example, reports on turnover, hiring costs and benefits) 
  • Meeting and events calendar and prep work for the conferences and meetings. 
  • Handbook Project in conjunction with our outstanding operations department. 
  • Maintaining and updating Exit Interview responses.   
  • Responsible for the Company Nurse Program and WC Claims process. 
  • Monthly reconciliation of Revenue Tracker VS. Pulse and paying out bonuses. 
  • Manage Leaves of Absence
