Full Job Description
Continental Disc Corporation, LLC (“CDC”) designs and manufactures safety-critical products that protect pressure-containing vessels from catastrophic failure. CDC is headquartered in Liberty, Missouri (outside Kansas City), and has manufacturing operations in Houston, Texas, and Ahmedabad, India with additional sales offices in India, the Netherlands and China. In a safe and cost-effective manner, and in accordance with all company policies and manufacturing procedures, a Specials Technician welds, assembles and performs functional testing to special disc assemblies and components to help ensure our customers receive the best product and best delivery possible. THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT.
Requirements
· Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and work orders.
· Find and set up required tooling for manufacturing process.
· Establish bores and burst pressures on welded disc assemblies.
· Enter data into ERP system.
· Use required production equipment, including but not limited to TIG and other welding equipment, presses, punches, nibbler cutters, laser scoring and cutting equipment, hydraulic testers and lifts, dial indicators, co-bots and other automated and robotic equipment, and precision measuring tools.
· Perform assembly and functional testing including, but not limited to torquing, pre-bulging, proof pressure testing, burst testing, and leak testing on disc assemblies.
· Using precision measuring equipment including, but not limited to calipers, dial indicators, gauges and micrometers, inspect parts for conformance to specifications and record data as needed.
· Comply with company productivity and quality standards.
· Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or GED.
· 1-3 months work experience in a production environment. Previous experience in a production position at CDC is preferred.
TECHNICAL / FUNCTION SPECIFIC:
· Ability to read blueprints.
· Basic math and reading skills.
· Computer skills.
· Working knowledge of industrial equipment used to produce rupture discs.
