Full Job Description
Continental Disc Corporation, LLC (“CDC”) designs and manufactures safety-critical products that protect pressure-containing vessels from catastrophic failure. In a safe and cost-effective manner, and in accordance with all company policies and manufacturing procedures, a Marking Specialist marks all component parts and assemblies according to the procedures and prints provided.
Requirements
· Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
· Inspect parts for conformance to quality standards and record data as needed.
· Use required tools and equipment to mark parts according to work order specifications, procedures, and prints, including tags, parts from the specials area, assemblies, component parts, and parts generated to replenish stock levels.
· Weigh-count and bag large quantity stock work orders.
· Participate in weekly 5S duties and other lean activities upon request.
· Comply with company productivity and quality standards.
· Operate a forklift when and as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or GED.
· 1-3 months’ work experience in a shipping or production environment.
· Previous experience in a production position at CDC is preferred.
TECHNICAL / FUNCTION SPECIFIC:
· Ability to read blueprints.
· Basic math and reading skills.
· Computer skills sufficient to mark parts and tags according to procedures and prints.
· Ability to use tools required by the position, including but not limited to, spot welder, riveter, grinders, sanders, power saws, nail gun, tape gun, heat sealer, stapler, and forklift.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Motor skills sufficient to successfully and safely use required tools and machinery.
· Ability to stand and/or walk for majority of scheduled shift, typically 8-10 hours per day, though possibly more when overtime is required.
· Using proper lifting techniques, ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and safety shoes.
