The Shift Group Leader for the Shipping, Quality, and Inventory department assist with the efficiency of 2nd Shift, ensuring that company product of the highest quality is produced in a safe, cost-effective manner to ensure the best delivery to our customers while complying with all company policies and manufacturing procedures.
Requirements
Essential Functions:
*Drive continuous improvement processes.
*Performs direct work demonstrating the ability to perform any of the various operations within the departments.
*Guides hourly employees in designated department.
*Participates in company hiring process to fill open positions in designated department (as needed).
*Coordinates job training, both for new employees and cross-trains existing employees.
*Provide feedback on employee performance for 2nd Shift on a day-to-day basis to the production supervisor.
*Prioritizes tasks and motivates employees to accomplish departmental objectives.
*Coordinates with other supervisors, leads and shift group leaders as needed to meet company production schedule.
*Ensures needed materials and supplies are available to employees.
*Assists employees in interpreting specifications, blueprints, and work orders.
*Ensures production employees follow company manufacturing procedures, safety practices, and report all company policy violations to Supervisor.
*Performs other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need.
*Performs closing of plant facility.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Industrial Technology, Business or other related field preferred.
Experience: 1 year CDC production experience in the designated department to be led.
Technical / Function Specific:
*Ability to read blueprints.
*Advanced math skills, including ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
*Intermediate reading skills.
*Effective verbal and written communication skills.
*Ability to understand and interpret manufacturing procedures.
*Ability to perform the essential functions of each position in designated department.
*Working knowledge of a wide variety of industrial equipment, particularly all machinery and equipment in designated department.
*Working knowledge of how to use measuring instrumentation, not limited to calipers, pressure gages, and scales.
*Working knowledge of computers sufficient to successfully use company ERP system, Microsoft Windows and Office.

Physical Requirements:
*Motor skills sufficient to successfully and safely use required tools and machinery.
*Ability to stand and/or walk for majority of designated department’s scheduled shift, typically 8-10 hours per day, though possibly more when overtime is required.
*Ability to independently lift up to 50 pounds as needed and lift up to 100 pounds with the aid of hoists and other equipment.
*Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, safety glasses, safety shoes and safety harnesses.
