New Construction Superintendent

Benchmark Custom Homes is looking for an experienced RELIABLE and honest Construction Superintendent Manager to oversee our builds and keep our projects on schedule in a timely and cost-effective manner. New Construction Superintendent responsibilities include:

• Overseeing and directing construction projects, setting up subcontractors from conception to completion.
• Responsible for scheduling subcontractors and managing the construction of our custom homes, with the ability to quickly assess and efficiently resolve problems and unique situations.
• Oversee in-house labor to be efficient and productive to ensure jobsites have a clean marketable appearance, and ready for subs always.
• Coordinate, schedule, and direct subcontractors on-site ensuring the plans, specifications, start, and color sheets are properly followed.
• Timely ordering of materials and ability to create an ideal working environment to motivate trades.
• Coordinate and implement plan changes and updates, while being sure to communicate with corresponding trade/sub of field changes.
• Closely track construction progress on “ALL” projects on daily basis and report back to Construction Manager
• Ability to plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
• Monitor shop tools, materials, inventory and company equipment and maintenance: Truck, trailers, skid steer & manlift.

Requirements

Requirements for a Superintendent

• A college degree is not necessary, as Benchmark hires first on character, a cheerful outlook, efficiency, speed, and willingness to succeed
• Maintain a POSITIVE, ENERGETIC, and UPBEAT attitude.
• Proven working experience in construction management with advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
• Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant local building codes
• Be familiar with Computer Programs: MS Office, Construction software like Co-Construct, Builder Trend
• Competent in conflict and crisis management
• Must have excellent leadership abilities and be able to communicate with subs/trades on timelines/deadlines
• Have a pickup truck of at least ½ Ton in size and know how to back up a trailer.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have at least 3 years of New Construction Custom Home Building Experience.

Skills and knowledge of construction equipment are helpful but not necessary for position. Benchmark does operate a Bobcat/Skid steer, manlift, various trailers. Knowing how to operate these items and ability to teach younger laborers are helpful.
