INTERCON specializes in the design and manufacture of heavy machinery for commercial marine, heavy industry, and defense markets. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to help design large commercial marine machinery. Intercon winches and tug-barge couplers are designed to operate in harsh environments and support activities like off-shore wind turbine installation, tug escort operations, deep ocean salvage, container and bulk ocean transportation, etc. This is a role that will require the engineer to work both collaboratively and independently with minimal daily supervision, self-motivation is critical. Intercon is an environment where engineers still work closely with shop floor employees throughout the production process. - Remote Field Support and Troubleshooting
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
Required Skills
- Experience with heavy machinery design
- Proficient in AutoCAD Mechanical and AutoDesk Inventor
- Excellent understanding of GD&T
- Ability to read/understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings and schematics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to thrive in an environment with changing product mix and manufacturing technology
